Hopi Ear Candles

Ear candling has been practised by the ancient Greeks and many other civilisations as well as the Native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona. Hopi Indians (which translates as people of peace) were the first settled tribe of the North American Continent. They were very spiritual people who lived in harmony with nature.

Their Shaman Healers used ear candles, which are hollow tubes made of organic lint/flax and infused with honey and various medicinal herbs.

What happens during a Treatment

The candles are a very safe and gentle alternative to ear syringing.

The warmth and the concentrated, herb infused vapour is drawn down the hollow centre of the candle and is deposited in the auditory canal which eases pain and discomfort in the ear. As the vapour continues to circulate a chimney effect is created. This causes the eardrum to gently vibrate which helps to regulate the pressure system affecting ear/nose and throat and also gently draws impurities into the candle.

The whole treatment should last approximately 45-60 minutes, which is completed with either a facial or short reflexology treatment to help promote healing
