Celebrate the return of the light and set your new intentions for the coming summer. Honour the light through a candle meditation where we sit and muse on our hopes for the approaching light. Creative exercises to establish your goals and say thank you for what you have recived. A Yoga Dharma community event which is free to our members and invited guests.
Christmas (Yule and Winter Solstice) is placed at the time of year where we experience, the last of the shortest days and celebrate the very beginning of the longer days, new year/ new beginnings. This can be described as the birth of the Sun, and just as after any birthing ceremony we are left exhausted, and need time to recharge, so do we at the time beyond Yule.
Candlemas, or Imbolc, Valentines day or Lent, we can think of as our six-week check- up after birth. This is the time when we leave the house with our baby (dreams, hopes, desires) and review to make preparation for this coming season. It is a time for nurturing ourselves, massage, eating healthy food, eating less, exercise and meditation. Its a time for putting our plans into action.
Through creative exercises we formulate what we most need for the coming summer, and give thanks for what we have been given. The ritual revolves around,
- What we want to create
- How to build our intentions
- How it will serve us and others
- Then we meditate on light while musing on our intentions
