PSOAS
The Psoas is far more than a muscle and this workshop not only highlights the importance of a healthy Psoas, it also enables strategies for efficient and effective function.
CONNECT, STRENGTHEN & RELEASE
This workshop uses a range of methods to connect, strengthen and release the Psoas. A sequence of uniquely adapted standing postures enables connection. Passive release stretches to relax, and original adaptations to strengthen the Psoas. Whether the Psoas is tight, weak or overactive each student is guided to the most appropriate action for them.
SUBTLE ANATOMY
The role of the subtle body in relation to the Psoas is also addressed through Pranayama and how it stimulates the Parasympathetic nervous system.
PSOAS, WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Maintaining a healthy Psoas has many benefits on both a subtle and gross level. The Psoas connects directly to the enteric nervous system where the bulk of Serotonin is produced, the central nervous system and major organs. The Psoas is the main hip flexor and walking muscle. A healthy Psoas aids correct posture and prevents low back pain. Energetically it is connected to Manipura chakra and assimilation.
