YOGA AND SPIRITUALITY
The aim of this workshop is to explore the relationship between yoga and spirituality, if any! Discuss whether yoga is a religious practice, what the real meaning of the word spirituality is, and if Kundalini and Prana are just other ways to express spirituality.
This will be done by exploring the etymology of the word spirituality from its earliest mention, right up to modern interpretations.
“Pneuma is the archaic Greek word for breath, air in motion and wind. In Greek translations of Ruach from the Hebrew Bible it means Spirit or soul. Stoic philosophy (A branch of ancient Greek philosophy) describes Pneuma as the breath of life, or a combination of the classic elements of Earth (Home) Water (Fluidity) Fire (Discipline) Air (Movement) and Ether (Potential)”
