Awe-struck
I spent a week in Bulgaria with Yoga Dharma as part of my 200hr Teacher Training Course. I had a wonderful time and was awe-struck by the beautiful surroundings. It was an extremely peaceful environment, as we were situated up in the hills. The purpose-built yoga studio is a joy to practice in and the house itself is charming. We had wonderful teachers who were able to both challenge and inspire us. Having never visited Bulgaria before, I am already keen to return!

“Intensive Teacher Training”
I have just spent a week away in the absolutely beautiful mountains of Bulgaria with Yoga Dharma. This trip was part of the 200hr Teacher Training course, and was as such, a lot of hard work! However, the peaceful unspoiled environment, the amazing purpose build facilities, the incredibly knowledgeable and supportive teachers, and the wonderful accommodations, allowed us all to stay focused on the task at hand and kept us inspired at all times. I really was a wonderful and transformative experience, one I cannot recommend enough, and a place that I very much look forward to visiting again.
“Teaching Training in Bulgaria – Energy, Expertise and Transformation!”
The level of expertise and energy at yoga dharma made teacher training in Bulgaria a transformative experience. The teachers adapted their appoach to suit all our individual abilities – motivating us to challenge ourselves and enjoy the process 🙂 the improvement in all our physical practise was clear throughout the week and our group discussions about philosophy provided us all with a greater insight into the life enhancing powers of yoga!

“A Truly Life Changing Experience”
“Martin is a brilliant teacher. His knowledge and expertise on the practical, philosophical and historical elements of yoga are second to none”
“If you are considering a yoga teacher training course in Europe then I would highly recommend Yoga Dharma Bulgaria. I went in September 2013 for a 3-week intensive course. Martin is a brilliant teacher. His knowledge and expertise on the practical, philosophical and historical elements of yoga are second to none. My practise and confidence improved considerably during my time there”.
The location is in the mountains and the grounds and orchard are stocked with walnuts, grapes, plums and apples, which you can help yourself to. On our day off Martin drove us to the local town of Tryavana which is full of amazingly inexpensive gifts and local crafts. The cafes and bars all sell lunch and drinks for a couple of pounds.
Our days started with a three hour practice which included practising Kriyas, Pranayama and Asana. Brunch was at 10 am which included porridge, toast, fresh fruit salad, homemade jams and a special which included locqal eggs and pancakes.
Afternoons were set aside for philosophy and teaching / adjustment practise which incuded anatomy, subtle anatomy, the sutras and history.
Every student recived a course folder and handouts for each lesson which built into a comprehensive manual. Homemade cakes with tea and coffee were served for afternoon tea. Dinner was two courses of freshly prepared vegetarian meals and the ingrediants were fromthe local markets and farms Evenings were spent doing homework, usually after a walk up the mountain to watch the most amazing sunsets.
It was truly a life-changing experience and great value for money.”

An invaluable experience
“For me the course was an invaluable experience of 7 days of thorough practise, learning and benefiting from both teachers and students. I loved being totally immersed in yoga away from distractions, and being surrounded by the beautiful Bulgarian wilderness. It has transformed my practise, thank you.”
Anna Carr. Student.
The Training week in Bulgaria had a huge beneficial influence on my Yoga practice. I feel a lot more confident now teaching and guiding a Yoga Class.
I was able to immerse myself into yoga without the normal distractions of life. The training structure and format was excellent with good on-hand training support from Yoga Dharma.
I fully recommend that anyone keen on their Practice should take a week of Yoga training in Bulgaria, to bring their practice to a new level.
The Environment was peaceful and calm. A great place to train with like-minded people.”

” Martin and Fran have excellent teaching skills and very extensive knowledge. This course definitely has greatly improved my practice and has given me the ability to progress further.”
“The course was structured to allow our own personal development. With a relaxed atmosphere allowing the students to work at their own pace.
Although I started this course to improve my practice, the course opened my eyes to a much wider variety of subjects, such as philosophy, mythology as well as anatomy.

Training of the highest level
Martin and Fran were always very supportive and both of them are amazingly experienced and knowledgeable people about yoga and human nature. I became aware about my weaknesses and strengths, encouraged to work harder or taught when to stop. The literature, education materials, methods of teaching and guests during the training, were to the highest level.
It was a journey on which all of us went through different transitions, although I hope all of us got closer to our inner-self.
Now yoga is with me every day and I also found the passion of teaching. More than happy to continue this path…”
